Dear Sub,

A Block

1. Please take attendance. (Sheet in folder.)
2. Distribute Bell Work Sheets. They are in the folder. The following are the bell work problems.

Directions: Please re-express the following using prime factorization. You will need to make a factor tree. (They get 6-7 minutes.)

1. 48
2. 71
3. 4725
4. 360

3. After bell work, please collect it. Their is an answer key in the folder. Please mark each problem while the kids are working on the next exercise. An x is incorrect and a check is correct. Do not score them in any way.
4. Distribute their maintenance for the week. They are the purple sheets. They are to work on the first row only. Collect it when they are done. This is not how we usually do maintenance. They usually take it home. Please collect it today. Again, they should just do the first row. They should get about 12-15 minutes tops.
5. Please pull up their homework. The answer keys are online.

One step equations should be completed. Click here for answer key and scroll to pages 3 and 4.

Two step equations should just have 1-4 completed. Click here for answer key and scroll to page 3.

6. Distribute the Ken Ken worksheet and have the kids watch the following video. After the video have them attempt the 4 Ken Kens on the worksheet. There is 4 not 8. There is 2 copies of each in case they mess up on one. It is sometimes easier to start over than erase. Given them about 15 minutes. They may need a little help. Inform them that these are a little tricky at first but then become easy.

7. After the Ken Ken worksheet, have the kids watch this video on solving 2 step equations. After the video. Have them finish the 2 step equations worksheet. It is the one that they did the first four problems on for homework. They can finish the worksheet for homework if they do not get it done in class.

C Block

1. Please take attendance. (Sheet in folder.)
2. The kids will be dismissed at 11:52 for lunch. They have 34 minutes to return from lunch and be seated.
3. Please collect their homework. It is a worksheet called Worksheet – Absolute Value Inequalities.
4. Please hand back their worksheet called Worksheet - Systems of Inequalities (2). Tell kids who have not handed it in that it was a 10 point assignment and they need to get it in late for a penalized grade if they were absent. If they are not getting it back now, it means I don't have it.

Read the following out loud to the class.

The following is meant to be feedback for the Worksheet you just got back. On the whole there were a lot of mistakes. Many were little mistakes. Read your feedback carefully. Some of this material is on today's quiz.
1. Be careful that you use a ruler when you make your graphs.
2. Remember that we use dotted lines when the symbol is < or >, and we use solid lines when the symbol is < or >.
3. Problem 2 was a problem across the board for the class. I made the following video to review it. I think since we solved and graphed absolute value inequalities after doing this it might be easier to understand now than when you did it. We will watch that video now and then continue with the directions on this web page. (Play the video and enter full screen mode.)

We will now also want to review 1 point that will appear on today's quiz that was not in the worksheet. It has to do with Matrix Inverses. We will watch that video now and then continue with the directions on this web page. (Play the video and enter full screen mode.)

4. For the rest of the time between now and lunch you can work on the worksheet I will now distribute called Worksheet - Linear Systems Revisited. Read the directions carefully. It says to use your phone to take a picture of final answer from your graphing calculator and email me the picture. YOU ARE NOT TO DO THIS IN THE CLASSROOM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. If you cannot get such a picture, bring your calculator in tomorrow and show me the answer.

Break for lunch.

When students return from lunch, take attendance again and note any students that are late from lunch on the attendance sheet. Have the students put a divider between them and start the quiz. They can use their calculator on the quiz but must show their work as indicated in the directions. There are a few a students who need to re-quiz their matrix operations quiz. When they submit their quiz from today, please give them a copy of the re-quiz. If they choose to defer it, they must come in to do it during lunch this week and email me to say that they are doing so. Please inform them of this. As students are taking the quiz, please distribute the worksheet called Worksheet - Linear Systems Matrix Word Problems (2). Tell them the following. Both worksheets from today will be collected tomorrow and graded for credit. What you don't finish in class will become homework. Do not submit them today.
